“The Cat’s Leg” This story is from the north-central part of India where agriculture is the main occupation. Growing and saving grains is a big task and in this story. There once lived four traders who jointly owned the big shop of grains. Year after year their business flourished and they made quite a profit until one season some rats took refuge in the shop. They destroyed almost a quarter of the grains. The four traders were worried. “This is a calamity,” said one of them. “We must do something about these rats.
